Whilst trawling the net looking for information on some of the most revered nawashi, I came across a goldmine of personal interviews. These are fascinating as they go some way to explaining how they view their art, which can be very different to how some of us in the west perceive it.
The first resource is Master K’s site, Beauty of Kinbaku, where he has a series of articles. These include a shoot with Nureki and a class given by Yukimura to Osada Steve and NuitDeTokyo. You can find them here.
Another excellent source of interviews with the grand-masters is Osada Steve’s TokyoBound blog which contains such gems as his meeting with Akechi Denki and Naka Akira
